Event:   Commodore's Cup - 2008
 
Deadlines:   Fleet championship format must be received, in writing, by the Commodore's Cup Committee no later than April 10, 2008 and champions names must be received no later than August 31, 2008. Entries received after that date are subject to Commodore's Cup Committee approval.

Rules:   All races will be governed by the "rules" as defined by the 2005-2008 Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS), by Appendix C as ammended for this event and by the Commodore's Cup Deed of Gift. This will be an umpired, match racing event and special Sailing Instructions will be issued.
 
Classes:   The Flying Scot fleet has arranged for boats to be loaned for the event and prepared by the Commodore's Cup Committee.
 
Eligibility:   Open to members or family members in good standing of OCBC who are the 2008 fleet champions of their respective fleets. These champions and their respective fleets must also have complied with the Commodore's Cup Eligibility Requirements as published by the Commodore's Cup Committee. Only these eligible champions may be helmsman. Note: the eligible fleets and champions, as listed below, have been determined to be in compliance with the special requirements for this event.

Scoring:   This is a double elimination ladder event. Pairings will be posted by the Commodore's Cup Committee following the drawing.
 
Crew:   Each skipper may elect to have one or two crew members. The election must be made at the competitors meeting and may not be changed subsequently. All crew members must have crewed for the respective skipper in their fleet championship. Skippers whose fleet boats carried fewer crew members may select additional crew from competitors in their fleet championship.
 
Substitution:   Crew may not be substituted between races without prior written permission from the Commodore's Cup Committee. Such permission will only be given under urgent circumstances. Substitution of helmsman will not be allowed.
 
Measurement:   All boats have been prepared by the Commodore's Cup Committee. No modifications are allowed and no adjustments to standing rigging may be made without prior approval of the Commodore's Cup Committee except in an emergency to protect the integrity of the boat.
 
Courses:   Courses will be 4 leg, windward/leeward with starboard mark roundings in accordance with the Sailing Instructions.
 
Appeal:   Decisions by the Protest Committee with regard to protests, requests for redress and other actions by the Race or Protest Committee shall be subject to appeal according to rule 70 of the RRS. Awarding of the primary trophy, however, will be based on the original decision, without regard to any appeal.
